I've been asked some questions about Jenny and Nico's house and the area. Here's what I've found.
Jenny and Nico's home was built in 1929 and is named Chrysanthemum.
The vine growing up the trellis along the terrace is wisteria.
Chernex is at an altitude of 1,800 feet.
We hike to about 2,800 feet.
This is one of the places we hike. Check out all the bear's garlic. I wasn't exaggerating when I said the gorge is covered in it.
Do you notice in the last picture how the fallen timber that is nestled in the small waterfall looks like a woman's figure?
We pass this house and wisteria bush on our way home from the gorge. They are both beautiful.
How do they get the sheep up the mountains as the weather warms?
The folks who own the property next store to Jenny and Nico's keep about 8-10 sheep. This one seems to find the grass greener on the other side. Whenever I walk by she has her head through the fence and is munching on the grass that she has to stretch for as opposed to what's in her own pasture.
Who knew that s sheep could have such a cute mug shot?

ReplyDeleteThe house is older than I would have thought. My guess was mid-Seventies. 1929? Wow, that place is in great shape!
Do you know how far it is above the lake? I should look up the altitude of Lac Leman and do the math myself...
